Marie Moore-Cunniffe A.D.C.R.G.,T.C.R.G. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Marie trained at the world renowned Inis Eagla school in Dublin, under the direction of the late Maittiu O'Maoileidigh and Marie Duffy, now dance choreographer for Michael Flatley's production of "Lord of the Dance." As a dancer, Marie achieved great success from an early age, reigning top 5 at all Ireland and World Dance Championships. Marie was also a performer with the famous "Jury's Irish Cabaret," touring 3 times with them in The United States and Canada. Covering 48 states in 3 months, they performed at many venues including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Centre, and Boston Symphony Hall. Marie was also part of the team that captured the gold medal for Ireland at the World Folk at the World Folk Dance competitions in Dijon, France. Marie continues her dancing career now as a teacher and adjudicator. Her students have appeared in "Lord of the Dance," and at Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, on Broadway, the "Good Day New York Show" and at the New Jersey Performing Arts Centre. Marie has trained many champion dancers and also adjudicates many competitions traveling extensively throughout the United States, Ireland, England, Scotland, and Canada. She has judged many times at the World Irish Dancing Championships and was selected to judge at the 2004 "All Ireland Championships," in Ennis, Ireland. In 2007, she judged the World Irish Dance Championships in Glasgow . |
Frank Cunniffe Frank hails from Galway, Ireland. He is co-founder of the Cunniffe Academy of Irish Dance in Galway along with his sister, Mairin Cunniffe-Daly, ADCRG. During his years as a teacher in Ireland, Frank has trained many regional, All Ireland and World Champion dancers. Many of his students have gone on to perform with the hit shows "Riverdance" and "Lord of the Dance." In 1988, Frank expanded his teaching career in the United Kingdom, where he continued to run a very successful dancing school. During his stay in the UK Frank himself performed the lead role in many productions by the London Irish Drama & Folk Dance. He was an active company member for many years. Frank and Marie are now married. In 2002, Frank joined the Marie Moore school as co-director. The school continues it's great success in the North East region, training many students at all levels of competition from beginner to championship dancers who compete at regional, national and world championship levels. |
